AWANAS Award Night

We had our annual awards night for AWANAS  2 weeks ago.  (I'm really behind in my blogs).  There was one particular Spark that was hamming it up for the camera.  I won't name names.

Whew!  Someone finally gave him an award and he stopped making those faces so his momma could get a decent picture.  

His brother thought he was pretty cool and was secretly plotting all the gestures he would make when it is his turn to get an award next year.

Summer Time!

We put our pool up two weekends ago.  The boys had lots of fun splashing around while it filled with water.  It was too cold for my taste, so I just took pictures from the deck.

Happy Birthday, Seth!

Seth turned 6 on May 2nd.  We went to Bush Gardens in VA to celebrate.

He really wanted to ride Griffon, but he wasn't tall enough.  He did get to try out the seat they have before the queue.  He pretended he was actually riding the coaster while he was in the seat.  Looks pretty believable, don't you think?

We saw lots of birds, wolves, and other animals that I can't remember and I didn't think to take pictures of.  I did take a picture of this bird, but it was a little camera shy:

They had a Sesame Street section for the little ones, and the boys had a great time playing in Oscar's Yucky Forest.  

There was also a zippy little roller coaster there called Grover's Alpine Express.  Seth rode it with me and then went with Jesse.  It was lots of fun!

Then Seth tackled the Big Bad Wolf with me.  I LOVE the Big Bad Wolf and I giggled the whole time, even though Seth was crying beside me.  I hope that doesn't make me a bad mom, but I really enjoyed the ride.
